- Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and update patient information.
- Collect and store specimens following established procedures.
- Explain the venipuncture and specimen collection process clearly and courteously.
- Demonstrate techniques using straight and butterfly needles.
- Understand and follow all physicians' orders.
- Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
- Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
- Check test requisitions or computer labels for accuracy.
- Package specimens for transport and store samples at required temperatures.
- Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
- Attend annual department trainings.
- Respond to telephone inquiries and read laboratory results.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2-3 years of recent phlebotomy experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
- Experience with blood draws on pediatric to geriatric age groups.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to float between multiple doctor's offices.
- Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
- Ability to float between multiple locations.
- Experience in drawing patients and placing orders.
Phlebotomist
The primary role of the Phlebotomist I is to assist in performing various tasks, including troubleshooting, training, and recommending workflow improvements. The phlebotomist is responsible for collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures, ensuring the integrity of the specimens for transport.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
