      Description:

      Reporting to the Director of Acute Care the Clinical Nurse demonstrates applies the nursing process to plan and manage the care of med/surg/tele or med/stroke patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.

      Job Title: Float Pool Nurse - Acute Care Unit

      Employment Type: PRN / 84 hours required in a 6-week schedule

      Shift: Day Shift

      Location: Germantown, MD

      Description:

      • Reporting to the Director of Acute Care the Clinical Nurse demonstrates applies the nursing process to plan and manage the care of med/surg/tele or med/stroke patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
      • Must have availability to work 60 hours in a 6-week schedule.
      • Must have availability to work 84 hours in a 6-week schedule.

      Responsibilities:

      • Plans and manages care of routine patients
      • Educates patients and family
      • Planning continuum of care
      • Providing safe care and ensuring an excellent patient experience
      • Floating to ED or ICU to care for medical surgical boarding patients

      What you will need

      Required:

      • Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree (BSN or MSN) preferred. Note, if the BSN or MSN degree is not present on hire, the employee must sign an agreement to obtain a within a specific time frame.
      • Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
      • BLS certification (issued through the American Heart Association)
      • At least 2 years of nursing experience in an acute care setting required for float pool nurses.
