      Job Title: Floating Floor Installer – Laminate & Vinyl Plank (1099 Subcontractor)


      Job Description:
      We are seeking skilled, dependable flooring installers to join our network of subcontractors. This role focuses on installing floating floors, including laminate, vinyl plank (LVP/LVT), and engineered click-lock hardwood. You’ll work in high-end homes and light commercial spaces across downtown Chicago.


      Key Responsibilities:

      • Install floating floor systems (click-lock LVP, laminate, engineered hardwood)
      • Prep job sites: remove old flooring, prep subfloor, underlayment if required
      • Cut and fit flooring around walls, cabinetry, stairs, and transitions
      • Install baseboards, transitions, or quarter round as needed
      • Maintain a clean jobsite and deliver a finished product ready for walkthrough
      • Communicate clearly with project manager on scheduling, materials, and punch list items

      Insurance Requirements:

      • Installers will be required to possess errors and omissions insurance no less than $2 million dollars.
      • Installers will maintain insurance coverage that extends to its employees or any third parties in compliance with standard industry practice of no less than $500,000 bodily injury and $1,000,000 property damage.

      Qualifications:

      • 3+ years of experience with floating flooring systems
      • Your own tools, transportation, and personal protective equipment
      • Ability to remove and dispose of old flooring if needed
      • General liability insurance (or willing to get it)
      • High attention to detail, clean work, and professional customer interactions
