The Corporate Management Services Branch (CMSB) strives to provide excellence in corporate services and partners in our ministries’ outcomes. Our mission as a central, consolidated, support services team, with both headquarters and a regional presence, is to support all the program areas and branches in the justice sector. The Branch is responsible for budget reporting, forecasting, financial reporting and provides advisory services relating to finance, strategic human resources, facilities management, enterprise risk, and security.
Branch headquarters are in Victoria and regional support exists throughout the province in Prince George, Kelowna, Kamloops, Nanaimo, Burnaby, Surrey, New Westminster, Port Coquitlam, Maple Ridge and Vancouver.
The Branch plays a critical role linking the justice sector to its partners and government’s central agencies (Treasury Board Staff and Office of the Comptroller General, and Office of the Chief Information Officer and Shared Services Agencies).
The Financial Analyst provides financial management and reporting advice and expertise to program clients, applying a broad range of accounting knowledge and a thorough understanding of the clients’ programs, services and related business plans and priorities. The position requires tact and discretion to effectively communicate sensitive and often confidential information that may have a significant impact on clients’ program budgets and service delivery.
Job Requirements:
• Degree or Diploma in public/business administration, finance, or a related field; OR
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in financial and/or management accounting.
• Experience in managing relationships at a senior management level while providing advice to support executive decisions.
• Experience implementing and interpreting financial policies and procedures
• Experience analyzing financial and accounting statements, developing financial reports and developing complex spreadsheets.Preference may be given to applicants with:
• Minimum 1 year of experience in financial and/or management accounting in a government environment.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
