      Within the Ministry of Finance, the Corporate Services Division is responsible for providing corporate financial management, budgeting, and facilities management (CFFS), performance reporting and corporate priorities (PMCP), strategic human resource services (SHR), information management/technology services (IMB), and Division Operations (DOB). These services are provided to a pod of clients, including but not limited to the Ministry of Finance, Government House, Office of the Premier, Government Communications and Public Engagement, and Crown Agencies Secretariat.

      The Senior Analyst, Accounting and Reporting, is tasked with providing expert advice and guidance to ministry officials and program areas regarding revenue and balance sheet accounting. This position functions as a revenue accounting/budgeting expert in an environment that supports multiple changing program areas and one that is subject to changing legislation and multiple government initiatives.

      Job Requirements:

      • A diploma or higher in accounting or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
      • Two (2) or more years of relevant work experience in financial reporting or financial statement audit. Financial reporting work experience must include preparing full cycle accounting and reporting for both the balance sheet and income statement (e.g. preparing monthly financial reporting, quarterly reporting and FYE packages).
      • Experience interpreting and applying Government’s Core Policy and Procedures Manual and/or accounting standards (PSAB, ASPE or IFRS).
      • Experience analyzing financial data for variances, trends and errors.

      • Preference may be given to applicants who have completed Core 1 and/or Core 2 of the CPA program.

      About this Position:
      There are currently three (3) positions available. Two (2) permanent opportunities and one (1) temporary opportunity available until July 31, 2024, this temporary opportunity may become permanent.
      An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
