Description
$16.50/hr. and a Free YMCA Membership
15-20 hours per week, 2:30-5:30 or 3-6pm
Under the supervision of the Senior Program Director, the Food Access Specialist will work to ensure meals are served in a timely, appealing, healthy, and appropriate manner in accordance with DOH standards. This position will also oversee all food donations to the branch. The position is responsible for ensuring that the mission, purpose, image and core values at the YMCA of Greater Rochester are conveyed.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for the preparation, organization, and inventory of food items at their specific location.
· Ensure all food is prepared and distributed in accordance with Food Safety Guidelines outlined by the Department of Health and YMCA guidelines.
· Ensure proper retention and management of all leftover food.
· Complete daily temperature checks of cooler, and freezer and maintain accurate temperature charts.
· Complete and maintain accurate paperwork required for the programs.
· Assist and oversee the sorting and distribution of meals, snacks, and all food donations.
· Build relationships by using names and initiating conversations with all members, staff volunteers and guests.
· Attend all training and meetings as required.
· All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
· Be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED.
· Must have experience working with a diverse population of people.
· Have strong interpersonal, communication, and organization skills.
· Current certification in CPR/AID and First Aid or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift.
· Must be able to bend and stoop occasionally.
· Must be able to lift 45 pounds occasionally.
· Ability to work in all elements (i.e. outside in all weather)
