      About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Moose Run Golf Course on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK.

      Regular Part-Time employees have a regular and continuous work schedule of at least 20 hours to a maximum of 40 hours per week.

      Duties


      The purpose of this position is to manage all golf course food and beverage operations to include; snack bar, tournament functions, snack shack, food truck, and beverage carts at Moose Run Golf Course.

      Plans, directs and manages the operation of all golf course food and beverage activities, including, but not limited to: snack bars, catering, vending, beverage carts, contracts, and any other operations related to food and beverage. Implements higher-level directives, formulates procedures and programs to ensure high standards of food and beverage programs. Establishes, reviews and evaluates food and beverage service and purchase of supplies and equipment. Analyzes financial results and maintains solid financial condition of food and beverage activities. Plans menus, prepares budgets, requisitions supplies and equipment, maintains accurate inventory control, cash control, and uniform accounting procedures. Develops operating policies, practices, and instructions. Oversees food preparation and continually reviews menu selection to meet customers' demands.

      Ensures operations are within established financial goals. Operates vehicle to pick up supplies, run errands, etc. Establishes work assignments and provides general instructions. Prepares and posts work schedules. Ensures proper preparation, display, and pricing of food and beverage items, adheres to correct receipt and pricing procedures, maintains sales records and accountability documents, maintains security of food and beverage operations, cash, and fixed assets. Interviews and selects applicants and assigns tasks. Explains work requirements, methods and procedures.

      Determines equipment, supplies and maintenance required. Maintains maintenance logs of all equipment. ensures adequate stock levels are maintained and orders stock as required. Trains and supervises subordinates on all phases of food and beverage operations to include established sanitation procedures. Develops performance standards, counsels employees on performance, and completes evaluations when required. Required to collect money, operate a cash register/point-of-sale, and prepare documentation for cash accountability.

      Requirements


      • This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
      • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
      • U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.
      • This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.
      • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
      • The incumbent must meet the appropriate minimum age requirement.
      • This position requires the incumbent to complete assigned training, to include Food Handlers certification, within specified time from date hire or assignment to position.

      In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

      Qualifying Experience:

      Must have experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise a revenue producing cost center in an activity. Must have responsible experience related to the supervision of food, beverage, or hospitality services. Experience must have included planning, organizing, and accounting for services provided. Such experience must have been acquired as a supervisor of a function in a similar food and beverage activity or as a supervisor of a fast or limited-service food and beverage facility.
      Must be able to lift 50 pounds and must be able to withstand kitchen heat. Must be able to withstand continual standing, walking, frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling and bending and exposure to freezer temperatures. Must be able to obtain a food handler and health card.

      Conditions of Employment: Must be at least 21 years of age. Must be able to satisfactorily pass a preemployment physical. Must satisfactorily complete a Background Investigation Tier 1 Level. Must possess a valid driver's license and provide current driving record.
