      Job Description

      The Production Team Member provides support as a member of the production team through ingredient preparation, recipe execution, packaging, sanitation, and proper storage/rotation of ingredients and finished goods.

      Responsibilities:

      • Cut, cook, prepare, and package a variety of hot and cold foods, including meats, cheeses, sandwiches, appetizers, wraps, salads, entrees, and other items.
      • Prepare materials and ingredients for production according to production schedules and recipes. This could involve weighing, measuring, and staging materials for use in the kitchen production processes.
      • Follow and comply with established kitchen production and packaging protocols and procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
      • Maintain accurate packaging of products and ensure correct labeling, batch, and pack dates are applied.
      • Adhere to recipe instructions and build guides, ensuring precise execution according to specifications.
      • Maintain a clean and sanitary working environment and maintain equipment in accordance with Whole Foods Market cleanliness and safety standards.
      • Check all labeling of product for label accuracy including correct labeling of allergens.
      • Check in-stock ingredient dates to ensure freshness and rotate when necessary.
      • Complete all required daily documentation for FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act), HACCP, Metal detection, and all other cook/cool, spoilage, and temperature logs as required for the facility.
      • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned.
      • Report safety violations and hazards immediately; help maintain facility security.
      • Arrive to work on time, wear appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment), work all scheduled shifts, complete required training and attend required meetings.

      Qualifications:

      • 0-2 years of experience in a production kitchen or food manufacturing facility environment.
      • Familiarity with executing various cooking techniques such as grilling, frying, sautéing, steaming, roasting, and more, to consistently deliver dishes of exceptional quality.
      • Basic understanding of executing production orders efficiently within a food manufacturing or kitchen environment, ensuring timely completion while maintaining a high standard of culinary excellence.
      • Ability to work well with others, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
      • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the facility, including nights, weekends and holidays as required.

      Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

      • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
      • Must adhere to company dress code and standards of production kitchen dress and PPE (personal protective equipment).
      • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with reasonable accommodation.
      • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
      • Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
      • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
      • Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
      • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
      • Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
      • May require use of ladders.

      The wage range for this position is $17.50 - $23.25 Hourly, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers “Whole Benefits".
