      • QUALIFICATIONS
        • High School Diploma/Graduate Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.) preferred
        • Previous experience in Food Service preferred.
        • Ability to communicate and understand instructions sufficiently to perform responsibilities independently.
      • JOB SUMMARY
        • Assists in the delivery of services to patients and employees. Maintains a clean and sanitary environment following all procedures for washing dishes, pots and pans. Responsibilities also include the transportation and retrieval of food carts and the upkeep of kitchen and dining room areas.
      • PHYSICAL DEMANDS
        • Standing and walking continuously up to six hours.
        • Lifting 1-11pounds continuously, up to 30 pounds occasionally.
        • Push, pull up to 21-50 pounds frequently, up to 100 pounds occasionally.
        • Bend, twist, squat, and reach frequently.
        • Continuously grasping with both hands.
        • Occasionally fine manipulation with one hand.
      • COGNITIVE DEMANDS
        • Problem Solving – Tasks allow for the use of rigid structure and reliance on very basic sequencing. Inference or understanding of purpose is not necessary. Task allows use of environmental cues / reminders or other aides, gross attention is adequate to complete task.
        • Written expression/communication – Task allows for the use of only copying and symbols.
        • Verbal expression/communication – Task allows for non-verbal / gestural communication.
      • WORK DEMANDS
        • Inside, wet, humid, large temperature swings, noisy, odors, hazards, greasy, working around others, working in crowded space, quick response, flexible schedule.
      • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
        • Strips and cleans dishes from food carts.
        • Handles and stores clean dishes and service ware appropriately.
        • Works in other kitchen areas when required.
        • Washes and sanitizes pots, pans, and utensils according to established procedures.
        • Transports food carts to and from patient units.
        • Delivers call backs to units during mealtimes Cleans tables and work areas as assigned.
        • Removes trash.
        • Washes floors and walls.
        • Cleans department equipment.
        • Follows regulatory guidelines for the safe handling of food, dishware and chemicals.
