Join our REAL Foods mission! Lead with Heart. Serve with Purpose.

We’re seeking an experienced and compassionate Food Service Director to oversee culinary and dining operations at two healthcare facilities in Conrad and Shelby, MT. This is a rewarding leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in close-knit communities, values personal connection, and is passionate about providing nourishing meals that support healing, wellness, and dignity.

      Your Role and Impact

As the Food Service Director, you’ll lead food service operations across two rural healthcare locations—ensuring compliance, safety, quality, and satisfaction at each site. You will manage and support on-site staff, partner with clinical teams, and uphold high standards for meal preparation, service, and resident/patient care. Your leadership will directly enhance the day-to-day experience of patients, residents, staff, and families in both communities.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Oversee food service operations at both healthcare locations, ensuring consistent quality, safety, and service standards.
      • Hire, train, schedule, and supervise kitchen and dining staff at each site.
      • Collaborate with dietitians, nursing, and care teams to meet dietary needs, therapeutic diets, and special meal requests.
      • Monitor and manage budgets, food costs, and labor utilization across both locations.
      • Ensure regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines (e.g., CMS, HACCP, OSHA).
      • Conduct regular audits and site visits to ensure quality assurance and operational excellence.
      • Lead menu planning and implement seasonal updates in alignment with nutrition standards and resident preferences.
      • Foster a supportive, team-oriented culture that values service, integrity, and respect.
      • Participate in or lead community events and initiatives that support engagement and wellness.
      • Other duties as assigned.

      Qualifications

      • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Food Service Management, Hospitality, Nutrition, or related field preferred.
      • Minimum 3–5 years of food service leadership experience, ideally in healthcare, senior living, or multi-site operations.
      • Strong understanding of dietary standards, sanitation practices, and regulatory requirements.
      • Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to coach and develop staff across locations.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in community-based or rural settings.
      • ServSafe® Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
      • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between sites as needed.
