      Position Summary:

      Sets a tone of hospitality and professionalism while participating in food service activities at residential treatment facilities, halfway houses and/or as part of House Café and Catering.

      Position Description:

      • Assist in preparing food and beverages for serving line
      • Set up and clear serving lines and dining room areas daily, including paper goods, ice, condiments, etc.; remove kitchen and dining room trash when needed
      • Wash cookware and dishware; maintain sanitary conditions in accordance with prescribed standards for commercial/institutional kitchens
      • Maintain security of working area for client and employee safety
      • Stock food and supplies in store room, pantry, refrigerator and or freezer
      • Preserve security of all service utensils and equipment issued and stored for kitchen
      • Train and monitor work of clients in serving, cleaning and food storage during an assigned shift when needed
      • Drive as needed to other regional sites
      • Other duties as assigned

      Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

      • Prioritize tasks appropriately and use time efficiently; problem solve as needed
      • Demonstrated interest in food service or hospitality
      • Knowledge of basic food safety standards and practices to ensure safe food handling
      • Demonstrate professional behavior in speech and attire

      Job Requirements:

      • High School diploma or High School Equivalency
      • 3 to 6 months of relevant food service experience
      • Valid driver license and auto insurance
      • Ability to obtain basic ServSafe Certification within first 6 months of employment

      Essential Functions/Physical Demands:

      • Positional: Infrequent sitting. Frequent standing and walking. Driving in accordance with job duties assigned.
      • Gross Mobility: Occasional climbing, crawling and crouching. Frequent balancing, stooping, and kneeling. Constant reaching and handling.
      • Sensory: Frequent feeling, tasting/smelling. Frequent use of color vision; far, midrange and near visual acuity, depth perception, visual accommodation and field of vision. Frequent to constant talking/communicating.
      • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Other physical demands as required by the site/location.
