- Prepare and serve food
- Clean, prepare, stock, and break down salad bar daily
- Cashier as needed
- Cleaning and sanitation
- Inventory, supply, and order management
- Assist with order unloading, verification, unboxing, and stocking
- Follow established safety protocols
- Maintain food service equipment
- Clean, wash, and dry dishes, pots, pans, and other equipment
- Manage and maintain School's food service system (Odin/My Kids Spending)
- Knowledge of standard kitchen equipment, utensils, and measurements
- Knowledge of sanitation practices related to handling and serving food
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees
- Basic culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices
- Proficient computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with students, faculty, and staff
- Experience in a food service setting preferred
- Attendance at and successful completion of ServSafe Food Handler Certificate Program within the first 45-days of employment and periodically thereafter as required
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch and lift heavy items up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time (75%-100% of daily shift) in addition to overhead reaching for heavy items up to 50 lbs

Hammond School is seeking a Food Service Staff Member; openings are available in both the Upper/Middle School Dining Facility as well as the Lower School Dining Facility. In this full-time non-exempt position, the Food Service Staff Member is responsible for preparing, serving, and portioning meals for students and staff. This person is responsible for ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met in all phases of a meal service as well as helping the chef to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
