Job Description

- Comply with facility and departmental policies and procedures regarding food service.
- Comply with established guidelines for sanitation and safety
- Obtain the tray count by unit for each breakfast, lunch and dinner meal. Assist the cook in preparing each meal tray. Deliver meal trays to the units in timely manner ensuring food remains at optimal serving temperature.
- Set up and maintain the salad bar and prepare vegetables, salads and other salad bar items in a neat, attractive and orderly fashion.

Our 115 bed facility established in 1924 prides itself on upholding a standard of excellence that allows our patients to take the first step to recovery. BHC Alhambra Hospital is a private, fully accredited, full-service acute psychiatric hospital serving children, adolescents and adults. BHC Alhambra is dedicated to providing quality behavioral health, substance abuse, and eating disorder treatment. We offer inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient options for individuals in the communities of the San Gabriel Valley, Los Angeles County, and surrounding areas.
The Food Service Worker is responsible for the following: assisting with preparing the salad bar, maintaining an adequate supply of beverages, ensuring the cafeteria and dining room remain clean at all times, assisting in the preparation and delivery of patient meals and room supplies, operating the dish machine, assisting the cook as required and stocking kitchen necessities on each floor as required and as directed.

Experience: Prior experience in food service desired with a basic knowledge of food service sanitation. Current Certified Food Handler Training preferred.
