      Commercial Food Equipment Repair Apprentice

      This position is for a Motivated, Electrically and Mechanically Inclined Individual interested in becoming a Field Service Commercial Appliance Technician for Commercial Kitchens. This is a rare and exciting opportunity with room for growth.

      This position will begin as a PM Apprentice, during which you will assist our Service Technicians in the Repair & Service, Preventive Maintenance and Installation of "Hot Side" Commercial Kitchen & Restaurant Food Preparation Equipment such as, Ovens, Steamers, Dish machines, Fryers, Ranges, Grills, Steam Wells, Heat Lamps and much more.

      You will be required to work in Commercial Kitchen environments such as Hospitals, Schools, Restaurants, Fast Food Establishments, Nursing Homes/Communities and Business/Corporate Dining/Cafeterias.

      Our Apprenticeship Program will include on-the-job training, hands-on instruction and mentorship from some of the best Hot-Side and Ware Washing Equipment Field Service Technicians around.

      Responsibilities:

      • Performs preventative maintenance and inspects the commercial equipment and their related components to ensure safe operation
      • Assists Service Technicians in repairs and installations as assigned.
      • Completes service tickets according to procedures
      • Communicates with customer and branch office regarding status of repairs to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated with customers.
      • Performs manual tasks such as: bending, reaching, standing, lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs., or maneuvering heavier items with additional manpower or appropriate devices.
      • Sustains service vehicle, tools, and uniforms to company standards.
      • Follows all company policies and procedures, particularly regarding safety.
      • Demonstrates steady improvement of troubleshooting and mechanical skills throughout apprenticeship

      Qualifications:

      • High school graduate/GED or the equivalent.
      • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
      • Basic understanding of Electric, Electronics, Steam, Gas and Plumbing.
      • Ability to follow directions and retain information.
      • Willingness/ability to be involved with the emergency on-call rotation that includes nights and weekends.
      • Self-motivated with the proven ability prioritize and work independently with minimal direct supervision (independence to increase as abilities improve).
      • Excited about this career path and dedicated to becoming a skilled technician.

      Expected hours: 40 per week

      Schedule:

      • 8 hour shift
      • On call

      • Our office is located in Quakertown, and you will primarily be working in the Upper Bucks County area. However, you may be required to travel to the Lehigh Valley, Pottstown, and Philadelphia areas to learn from and work with multiple technicians.
