      Contract: Permanent

      Hours: 37.5 (inclusive of early/late shift with additional weekend rota cover)

      We are currently recruiting for an Examiner to join our fantastic team at our site based in Tamworth. The Role:

      This is a truly exciting time to begin or continue your career with our first-class business, as a Forensic Examiner you will be responsible for the examination and processing of exhibits and biological samples seized in a variety of criminal cases.

      The successful candidate will also be expected to carry out a range of tasks, primarily the recovery of trace evidence, screening for body fluids using chemical testing and sampling for DNA profiling according to instructions produced by a Reporting Officer. You will also be responsible for the integrity and continuity of evidence and expected to produce a set of clear and concise handwritten notes and photographs for every examination carried out.

      Qualifications

      The ideal Candidate:

      We are looking for someone who holds minimum qualifications of A-Levels/BTEC in science related subjects, along with previous examination experience at a SOC Examiner level or equivalent (preferable but not essential), is highly motivated, enthusiastic and possesses the competence and team spirit to support others and contribute to a positive culture. Here at EFS integrity and customer focus is at the heart of everything we do, therefore you will need to have an understanding of the impact of a lack of integrity in forensics and care about excellent customer experience, and of course quality is a must, having the ability to input into Quality and Science related topics such as validation/verification, training and mentoring would be a distinct advantage and will see you excel in this role.

      Due to the highly sensitive nature of the work, applicants should note that security clearance is required for this role. To gain security clearance you must have five years continuous residency in the UK. In addition, all successful applicants will be required to undertake drug and alcohol testing prior to commencing employment
