  Are you looking for a fun and rewarding summer job? Do you enjoy helping others, working outdoors, and being part of a vibrant community? The Salem YMCA is hiring enthusiastic and friendly individuals to staff the Welcome Center at the newly renovated Forest River Park Pool!

  As a Welcome Center team member, you’ll be the first point of contact for visitors and play a vital role in ensuring a positive experience for all guests. This is a great opportunity to build customer service skills in a fast-paced, community-centered environment.

  Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist patrons in a welcoming and professional manner.

  • Handle check-ins, answer phone inquiries, and provide accurate information to guests.

  • Process day pass sales, guest registrations, and handle cash/credit card transactions.

  • Offer tours of the facility to new visitors.

  • Maintain a clean and organized environment, including light upkeep of common areas.

  • Address and resolve guest concerns, escalating issues to supervisors as needed.

  • Assist in emergency situations by contacting 911 or designated emergency contacts, when necessary.

  Qualifications

  
  

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English or other language combinations) strongly preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds and create a welcoming environment.

  • Previous customer service or related experience preferred.

  • Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn new systems.

  • The Welcome Center is open Tuesday - Sunday from 9am to 8pm.
