  We are seeking a highly motivated Formulation Scientist to join our Global CHC Development Center at Compiègne, to strengthen the development process of OTC products, for new galenic formats, line extension and business protection, for main brands within CHC business unit at global level.

  In this position you will closely collaborate with all functions at Compiègne Development Center and stakeholders within Science Hub R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs and Growth Hub Innovation and PPM, as well as with M&S, Quality, Legal, & IP teams. The direct report is to the Natural & Herbal Products Head.

  Main responsibilities

  Drive formulation development process for drug type of project, new products, switches, line extension and business protection for the main Brands of CHC portfolio

  • Support building the development strategy for the projects assigned to him/her, with focus on internal development.
  • Be based on high level of scientific support to cover state-of -the -art regulatory as well as quality requirements.
  • Guide technical work across all project phases, interacting and supporting the group of galenic technicians.
  • Provide information and support needed for budget and milestones definition.
  • Keep status up-to-date for development projects.
  • Interface and partnership with CHC Development Center network, including Science Hub functions such as R&D platforms, Consumer Science and Global Packaging & Design as well as with M&S.

  • Being part at the project team as galenic representative Follow Agile method framework for projects under development, securing the formulation milestones deliveries

  As Formulation Scientist, the job incumbent’s major tasks and responsibilities are:

  • Deliver clear milestones for the formulation topics, during project phases:
    • At early-stage program: Virtual prototypes & mockup testing; Formulation Design & Small size prototyping; input to TPP and ideation sessions
    • At Feasibility stage program: Feasibility Action Plan definition; Formulation design; API & RM sourcing definition, Restricted ingredients and sustainability assessment, Specification assessment, Manufacturing process design, Preliminary stability batches, Formula validation, IP check, Feasibility report.
    • At Product Development phase: Manufacturing process design and evaluation Process Scale up ; manufacturing of clinical batches when applicable, registration batches with ICH stability for submission
    • Use of QbD tools: DoE, FMEA, QTPP, and to implement control strategies acc. ICHQ8
    • During Technology Transfer to manufacturing sites, be part of the team by ensuring the right transfer of formulation/process aspects.
    • M&S transfer & Launch support

  • Execute formulation development phases for pharmaceutical projects from low to mid complexity.
  • Ensure the delivery of state-of-the art development dossiers, that will apply for multiple markets and regulatory agencies.
  • Build together with Performance group the development plan milestones and project updates on time

  • Execute prototyping activities at the DC for pipeline enhancement, as needed.

  • Scouting of new technologies and new ingredients, as needed.
  • Represent Compiègne Development Center at global project teams
  • Seek simplification where needed.
  • Ensure HSE and Quality policies are in place at all phases.

  ABOUT YOU

  Education :

  • Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry or Life Sciences

  Expérience:

  • +5 years of relevant experience in Pharma industries, with relevant experience in formulation development, Innovation process and transfer to industrial sites.
  • Experience in working with transversal teams and with different initiatives.

  Language :

  • Fluent English communication skills, verbal and written
  • French is a nice-to-have, can be a differentiator

  Technical skills :

  • Relevant experience in formulation development, Innovation process and transfer to industrial sites.
  • Knowledge on regulatory environment of drug products, especially OTC.
  • Knowledge of Agile project methods is a nice to have
  • Skilled in facilitation, situational awareness, continuous improvement, empowerment and greater transparency

  • Communication skills, problem solving, transverse interaction and proactivity.
  • Hands on attitude
  • Ability to drive projects in a transverse environment.
  • Able to communicate with external stakeholders and management.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and propose different ways to do things.
