      • Client's Formwork CoE rents Doka Frami Xlife handset formwork system to client projects at well below market rates. Projects have access to one of the highest quality, most productive systems available, and because our fleet is one system with standard and common sizes, it offers advanced work planning/packaging opportunities and automated design in 3D built in model software packages.

      Job Summary:
      • The client Formwork Field Technician will play a key role in the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of formwork and shoring systems on construction sites.
      • The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with formwork installation, specifically with Doka systems, an understanding of structural concrete, and the ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.
      • This position requires a proactive individual with strong problem-solving skills, especially on bespoke, atypical, and complex problems, with a particular emphasis and commitment to safety and efficiency.

      This includes:
      • Input to project estimating teams when developing the means, methods, and equipment scope.
      • The Formwork Field Technician assists client civil engineers with the constructability of proposed designs
      • On-site training on the client's formwork systems
      • Assessment of projects' formwork handling, maintenance, and repair programmes
      • Develop and enhance formwork installation methodology to improve installation rates and productivity.
      • Client and assess innovations that may be beneficial to client projects
      • Identify innovative accessories and assist the technical team at Doka in the viability, testing, and development of said innovations.

      Major Responsibilities:
      • The Formwork Field Technician will possess competency in the following areas in order to perform his/her role in a safe, productive, and effective manner.         • Designs formwork
        • Supports the team with the production of formwork drawings
        • Inspection criteria of installed Formwork
        • Ensures a Safe Work Environment
        • Participates in Training/Certifications
        • Frequent Site Visits to assist, guide, and provide technical instruction where needed to the client, Supervision, and Craft Professionals/ Main point of contact for formwork
        • Familiarization with industry formwork systems means and methods

      Education and Experience Requirements:
      • Typically requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience

      Required Knowledge and Skills:
      Basic Qualifications:
      • Have a working knowledge of structural construction operations, formwork installation, and concrete installation.
      • Technical knowledge of industry formwork and shoring systems, and solutions
      • Knowledge of construction technologies.
      • Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities.
      • Familiarity with current industry quality standards.
      • Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety, and Health (ES&H).
      • Demonstrable commitment to a zero-accident safety program.

      Preferred Qualifications:
      • Intermediate knowledge of supervisory functions relating to construction field activities.
      • Preferably with prior experience in roadway construction, mass grading elements, and slip-form paving activities.
      • Intermediate understanding of production management, including scheduling.
      • Sound communication skills.
      • Sound interpersonal and teamwork skills.
      • Extensive experience in civil construction on large projects in several, if not all, of the client's types of construction work (infrastructure, mining and metals; nuclear, security and environmental; and oil, gas, and chemicals)
      • Previous supervisory experience within the civil discipline.
      • ASBI, ACI, SAIA, and/or PTI participation/membership
      • Extensive knowledge in vertical wall pouring using shutter forms
      • Extensive knowledge in the installation of embeds within minimal tolerances
      • Background in Post Tensioning duct work and knowledge of Post Tensioning.
      • Must be able to coordinate with other disciplines to minimize schedule impact

      Additional Qualifications:
      • Direct hire mass excavation and backfill.
      • Direct hire shallow soil stabilization and soil solidification.
      • Direct hire stockpile management and onsite trucking management experience.
      • Direct hire wick drain installation.
      • Marine Experience.
      • Piling experience.
