Job Description
- Req#: 1300
- Audit client employee timesheets to ensure required details are included, provide adjustments as needed
- Accurately run payroll for multiple entities in various areas through third-party payroll software platform
- Review work done by Payroll Specialists
- Communicate with client team to ensure sufficient funding in payroll accounts
- Analyze and calculate prorated payroll amounts for first or last paychecks
- Reconcile quarterly and annual payroll reports prepared by third-party payroll processor
- Enter new employee data into third-party payroll processing software
- Update payroll records for changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, retirement deductions, or other employee changes
- Calculate bonuses and related tax withholdings when needed
- Prepare employee salary reports for client team
- Communicate with client employees as needed
- Work with client team in responding to Federal and State employee audit requests as needed
- Assist Payroll Manager, HR Generalist, and Payroll Specialists to resolve payroll related inquiries
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 7+ years of applicable experience
- Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external teams both verbally and via email
- Possess the utmost integrity and uphold client confidentiality

- Must be detail-oriented
- Understand and carry out directions in an independent manner
- Ability to process rush items or otherwise meet daily deadlines
- Prior payroll processing experience and familiarity with third-party payroll processing software
- Understand Federal and state payroll tax laws, including multi-state taxation requirements
- Payroll Administrator Certification (ex: CPP, FPC, SPHR) preferred
- Multi-state payroll processing preferred

Apercen is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role for those assigned and/or hired to work in for New York City Metro Area, Colorado, Washington State, and California. The salary range for all localities is $95,000 - $110,000. Individual salaries within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, certifications, skills and geography.
