      Job Summary:

      Teledyne FLIR Integrated Imaging Solutions (IIS) is a leader in designing and manufacturing innovative machine vision cameras using leading edge sensors. Our products are vital components in the fast growing, transformative industries of robotics, autonomous vehicles, industrial automation, virtual reality, medical/life sciences, and retail analytics.

      We are looking to add a Senior or Intermediate FPGA Engineer to our team based in Richmond, BC. This is an ideal position for someone passionate about embedded systems.

      The successful candidate will be responsible for:

      • FPGA and firmware design/development for new and existing products
      • Working collaboratively with other Engineering teams to design, implement, and test new products and features
      • Carrying out investigations involving image sensors, algorithms, new platforms and interfaces, and customer problems
      • Providing technical leadership to projects and products throughout their lifecycles
      • Leading design discussions, technical reviews, and project planning
      • Using discussions, documentation, and other means to share knowledge and mentor others in the team
      • Making a positive contribution to a team-based culture with a healthy balance of fun, camaraderie, technical challenge, and continuous improvement

      Requirements:

      • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
      • 5+ years’ experience in FPGA development
      • Strong analytical skills: ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills
      • Demonstrated technical leadership
      • Ability to work collaboratively with others
      • Positive attitude
      • Highly organized individual with keen attention to detail
      • Knowledge of Ethernet, USB, and other communication protocols
      • Experience with FPGA timing closure

      Preferred Skills/Experience:

      • Experience with FPGA transceivers, memory interfaces, and image sensors
      • Familiar with FPGAs from Xilinx, Intel, or Microchip
      • Comfortable with hardware debugging
      • Interest in system design and architecture
      • Experience with real-time systems and code/design optimization
      • Proficiency with scripting languages (Python, Perl, Bash)
      • Familiarity with image processing algorithms
      • Firmware development experience in C, C++
      • Experience with embedded Linux and other embedded operating systems
