As a Barclays Front- End Engineer , you’ll be the brains behind the design, installation, testing and maintenance of existing and new systems. This is more than playing around with code; you will have an opportunity to be playing a critical role in finding innovative solutions to complex problems, for our clients and customers daily. What will you be doing?

• Participating in technical implementation planning, ensuring that the integrity of live operations will be maintained
• Supporting the handover of software into business-as-usual (BAU) operation, providing the relevant IT service teams with information and education
• Having coordination and resolution of the Problem Management of system problems
• Comprehending the various phases of the software development lifecycle
• Undertaking impact assessment of problem records against applications /products within domain
• Reviewing test strategies to guarantee the quality of the delivered software assist in the diagnosis of system problems encountered during testing
• Collaborating with other software engineers across teams to build technical solution
• Delivering to all software engineering quality standards /benchmarks

What we’re looking for:

• Experience with software engineering practices (E.g., unit testing, code reviews, design documentation)
• Experience with UI development of mobile application (scalable for different screen resolutions and localization)
• Being comfortable working with a cross-functional team of developers and quality engineers to develop innovative engineering solutions
• Solid grasp of industry trends and champion modern tools, frameworks and practices

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Three to four years of experience in Java and Spring framework and experience and knowledge in developing mobile applications on iOS Platform and Android is preferred
• Experience with Cloud computing technologies is a huge plus
• Experience with event driven architecture is a plus
• Financial services industry knowledge is preferred
