Job Description

- Grade 12;
- First Aid, Food Safe, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, Suicide Intervention;
- Valid BC Driver's License - Class 4 required, or willing to attain prior to expiration of probationary period;
- Ability to undergo a successful criminal record search;
- Basic computer skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to work with high risk clientele;
- Knowledge of the Indigenous culture;
- Ability to undergo and maintain successful criminal record search;
- Must have experience of various community resources, services and systems or have awareness of how various community resources, services and systems can assist adults in need;
- Candidates must demonstrate the ability to use initiative and function independently;
- May encounter verbally abusive, aggressive and/or agitated individuals, and the ability to deal courteously, firmly, tactfully and diplomatically;
- Strong knowledge of and experience with professionalism and ethics with community members that face multiple barriers;
- A thorough appreciation, awareness, working experience and sensitivity of Indigenous history and culture, as well as a thorough understanding of the complexities of working with diverse populations;
- Ability to work flexible hours providing service including evenings and weekends; and
- Wage: $24.00 (Full-Time) / Shifts available Monday - Friday 1: 8am - 4pm and 4pm - 12am.

Front-Line Support Worker(s) - Full-Time
House of Friendship / Supportive Housing
Front Line Support Worker will provide a safe and respectful atmosphere for the diverse group that utilize the services. This role will provide crisis intervention, case management, referrals, support and develop good relationships with the clients, the public, community resources. Ensure a substance free environment is available to those men and woman seeking to be free of street life. Ensure the safety and security of the clients, and the facility and all areas of the facility, inside and outside are clean.
