Minimum of a three (3) year diploma/degree: Sociology, Behavioral sciences, social sciences, education or equivalent
Combination of three (3) years experience: Demonstrated experience in a post-secondary residence life and/or community housing setting. Experience developing and delivering housing related programs/workshops for domestic and international students. As well, as experience with risk management in a post-secondary housing environment.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to adhere to strict timelines and deadlines;
Superior communication and organizational skills, both written and oral;
Self-motivated with strong attention to detail;
Proven ability to prioritize activities within a cross-college team environment;
Strong presentation skills
Advanced proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Note: this position delivers regular information sessions during evening and weekend hours
and travel based on campus/community events/meetings/activity.- This position is eligible for hybrid work in conjunction with the College's Flexible Work Arrangement Policy . https://www.algonquincollege.com/policies/hr26/ ( subject to change) .

Job Description:
The incumbent is a social innovator that significantly contributes to the successful transition and retention of students at Algonquin College through the provision of supports and services related to safe traditional and non-traditional off campus housing at each of the Algonquin campuses. The incumbent works with students and off campus housing providers to sustain existing rental opportunities through the creation of strong community partnerships.
The incumbent also develops new non-traditional rental opportunities through innovative initiatives like Home Share, Places for Students, Spaces Shared, Sparrow or similar.In addition, the incumbent facilitates educational awareness sessions for students, families,
Algonquin staff, and property owners and provides support for students that find themselves in need when navigating difficult rental arrangements or are without housing unexpectedly.
The incumbent works in partnership with the AC Day 1 Planning Committee to provide information and resources to student’s pre arrival, highlighting local resources, reputable housing options, tenant rights, safety tips and how to avoid frauds.*This position is paid at Payband Support Officer I
