The incumbent secures program-related, paid employment opportunities for Algonquin College students and graduates through proactive marketing and sales activity;
The incumbent contributes to the efficient operation of the Cooperative Education and Employment Support external-focused activities;
The incumbent secures program-related, applied research, entrepreneurship, project, and placement opportunities for Algonquin College students;
The incumbent provides guidance, direction and support to students participating in Cooperative Education programs;
Other duties as required
Three (3) year diploma/degree or equivalent in Marketing, Public Relations, Career Development, Human Resources, or related to the programs-of-study served by the cooperative education department;
Minimum of five (5) years in a business or educational environment related recruiting employers / job development and/or sales activities;
Working directly with job seekers, preferably post-secondary students, in the field of career preparedness and employability skills development;
Demonstrated ability to create and maintain internal and external relationships resulting in new and growing employment opportunities for post-secondary students;
Co-op experience at a Post-secondary institution preferred.

Job Description:
Under the administrative direction of the Manager of External Engagement and Partnerships, the incumbent plays an essential role in ensuring the quality and quantity of paid employment opportunities (including co-op, part-time, full-time, and seasonal work for students and graduates) available as well as supporting cross-promotion and business development for applied research, entrepreneurship, and other forms of experiential learning. The incumbent will work with other college departments and services to provide a more seamless partnership experience for external constituents. In particular, the incumbent works closely with the Co-op Student Advisors, Employment Officers, and representatives of the Entrepreneurship and Applied Research portfolios to fully understand the needs of students and graduates to inform the external partnerships being pursued.
There is a strong emphasis on development of new partnership relationships and servicing and growing existing ones. The incumbent directly markets the employability of Algonquin College students to employers, which must result in securing and maintaining sufficient and appropriate paid, program-related employment, entrepreneurship, and project, opportunities for college students. The incumbent is responsible for developing, coordinating, planning, and implementing on-campus and off-campus activities related to employment, including career fairs, industry nights, employer celebrations, in-class employer presentations, etc. The incumbent works in close collaboration with other members of the co-op team, faculty, administrators, and a long list of external stakeholders.
Ability to work flexible hours when required.
