The Burke Rehabilitation Hospital is a highly recognized rehabilitation and research facility conveniently located in White Plains, NY. Our Staff is part of a dedicated team of professionals whose focus is to provide a caring and nurturing environment for our patients. Recognizing that our employees are an integral part of the patients’ overall success, Burke prides itself on hiring the most skilled and dedicated professionals and we are currently seeking full-time experienced Nurse Practitioner for the 7am-7pm days shift.

Responsibilities:

• Provides primary care services while supervising staff, including assessing, diagnosing, prescribing, treating and educating patients, developing new programs, and evaluating program effectiveness.
• The NP works closely with physicians and other clinicians in a team approach to patient care.
• Participates in performance improvement and research activities, and maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise.
• Makes rounds of patients .
• Reviews and renews restraints and 1:1 patient orders.
• Reviews PT/INR results and orders appropriate anti-coagulation.
• Signs off/gives report to day staff.

Requirements:

• Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school.
• Current NYS license to practice as a, Registered Professional Nurse.
• Current NYS license as a Nurse Practitioner.
• National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• Minimum two years' experience in an acute care setting.
• Must be able to work 12-Hour days shift, 7am-7pm.
• Required to complete 13 shifts within a 28-day schedule
• Required to work up to 2 weekend shifts per schedule.
• Required to work 1 major and 1-2 minor holidays.
