What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Analyze current system safety requirements and system architecture of steering and braking systems for agricultural machinery
- Examine software requirements, architecture documents, and C++ based embedded source code
- Create software safety requirements and architecture documentation based on reverse engineered source code
- Identify gaps in software traceability according to the ISO 26262:2018 standard
- Suggest software design improvements based on functional safety requirements and risk assessment
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Knowledge of section 6 of the ISO 26262 standard
- Hands-on experience in C++ software design and development for embedded systems in off-highway heavy machinery or automotive
- Experience in analyzing risk assessments, safety requirements, and system architecture
- Experience in creating software safety requirement specifications and architecture design documentation
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience designing control software for a distributed network for CAN or Ethernet communication
- Knowledge of the ISO standard for agricultural machinery
- Certified Functional Safety Engineer
