      Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
      Location: Chicago, IL 60615
      Overview
      The University is seeking a skilled Fundraising Marketing Copywriter to develop compelling content for advancement communications. This role involves creating persuasive donor-focused messaging across multiple channels to support fundraising and alumni engagement efforts.
      Job Description
      Content Creation
      • Develop engaging copy for fundraising and donor communications, including:
        • Annual giving campaigns (emails, letters, and online appeals).
        • Major and principal gift proposals and case statements.
        • Alumni engagement materials, such as event invitations and volunteer outreach.
        • Planned giving communications.
      Outreach Strategy & Collaboration
      • Partner with stakeholders to develop messaging that aligns with giving and engagement priorities.
      • Work with design and digital teams to ensure cohesive and compelling content that adheres to brand standards.
      Editing & Optimization
      • Ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency in all communications.
      • Optimize content for multi-channel distribution, including email, print, web, and social media.
      • Conduct A/B testing and analyze campaign performance to improve donor conversion rates.
      Donor Insights & Research
      • Research donor audiences, giving trends, and institutional priorities to tailor messaging.
      • Stay informed about higher education fundraising trends to develop innovative donor engagement strategies.
      Required Skills
      • Exceptional writing and editing skills with a focus on persuasive, audience-centered messaging.
      • Strong storytelling abilities that resonate with diverse audiences.
      • Understanding of fundraising principles, donor psychology, and alumni engagement.
      • Experience with multi-channel campaigns (print, email, web, and social media).
      • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail.
      Education Requirements
      • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field.
      • 3–5 years of experience in copywriting, marketing, or advancement communications, preferably within higher education or the nonprofit sector.
      Technical Proficiency
      • Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Blackbaud, Ellucian) and email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Emma).
      • Basic knowledge of SEO and digital content optimization.
      • Experience with Microsoft Teams; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
      Preferred Qualifications
      • Experience in higher education or advancement communications.
      • Ability to translate institutional priorities and academic initiatives into compelling donor messaging.
      • Understanding of higher education fundraising trends, including comprehensive and capital campaigns.
