Job summary
This post is for a junior doctor in the Surgical unit at FY2 Level. The main role of the post is to support the FY1 doctors in delivering In-patient care. They will be at FY2 level on the on call rota. This placement is NOT recognised for training.
Applications are invited for a full time post of FY2 in General Surgery which include colorectal, breast and general services. The successful candidate will be expected to commence as soon as possible and this will be a permanent post.
You will gain experience of working in a busy DGH as well as experience of laparoscopic colorectal, vascular, general and breast surgery. The successful candidate will also participate in the on call rota along with the current trainees.
Candidates will require full registration with the General Medical Council. The post-holder will be encouraged to develop clinical, managerial and educational skills within the Trust.

The Trust site is situated in the South East of England, close to London and the M25.
Main duties of the job
Within y9our role, your responsibilities will be:
Liaise between nurses, other junior doctors, patients, relatives and senior medical staff
Attend to the day to day management of day case, out-patient and in-patients
Attend and participate in ward rounds and operating theatre sessions as timetabled
Attend general and specialist out-patient, diagnostic and pre-assessment clinics
Teach medical students as directed
Supervise, monitor and assist the F1 doctors in posts with an attached F1
Take part in rostered emergency work
To keep up-to date with all administrative duties including letters, results and discharge summaries as require
