      Under the direction of the Roots of Knowledge Curator, the Gallery Assistant is responsible for staffing the gallery weekdays 6-8pm, contributing content to and helping edit Roots of Knowledge resources, and leading gallery tours.
      • Writes, edits, and organizes gallery resources including scavenger hunts, brochures, and other printed materials as needed. Ensures resources in the gallery are fully stocked and available to patrons.
      • Supports the patron experience during weekend hours by greeting and helping guests, sharing print and electronic resources, and offering tours of the Roots of Knowledge stained-glass exhibit in the Bingham Gallery.
      • Supports the Roots of Knowledge team projects, events, and goals by taking meeting minutes, following up on action items, reflecting on progress, preparing reports, and completing assigned training.
      • Leads expert-level, specialized private guided tours and occasionally leads public guided tours.
      • Perform other job related duties as assigned.
      Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree plus one year of experience related to the Summary of Duties or any combination of education and experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling three years.

      Preferred Qualifications:
      Supervisory experience is preferred.Knowledge
      • Knowledge of art history, humanities, and world history.
      • Knowledge of educational museum practices.

      • Skilled at working with the public and a variety of audiences while providing a high level of customer service.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      • Skills in presenting, planning, public speaking, drafting, editing, and online communication.
      • Skills in organizing information to create staff schedules, coordinating tasks and deadlines efficiently.
      • Skills in guiding a team with a clear vision, motivating team members and developing effective solutions to maintain progress and overcome obstacles.
      Abilities
      • Ability to work both independently and in small collaborative groups.
      • Ability to manage calendars for several people.
      • Ability to present to people of various age groups.
      • Ability to speak and stand in front of a small audience for a extended periods of time.
