      As a Game Designer II, you will work directly on College Football within EA Sports in live service content. Reporting to the Design Director. Games Designer II will maintain and balance the core and meta-game while creating and implementing live service ideas and features to entertain our players.

      Responsibilities

      • You will design, implement, tune and bug-fix entire programs of content that surprise and delight our players.
      • You will become a design mentor for live service content creation to more junior team members.
      • You will educate junior designers on upcoming features and how they change content creation.
      • You will establish a depth of knowledge across a majority of systems, being able to oversee the entire suite of content tools and train/support junior members of the team on them.
      • You will determine design gameplay experience goals, and tune features to meet those goals.
      • You will improve designs based on playtests, game metrics, team input, and community feedback.
      • You will operate as a bridge between feature development and design for the upcoming title and offer feedback as to how it will be used in the Live space.
      • You will advocate for the creative vision, and represent the Design team.
      • You will be an active member of the development team using inclusive collaborative frameworks with diverse teams to decide on goals and establish the stories players want to tell within a given release.
      • You will design solutions using the tools and time/scope available to create unique and fun experiences for players.
      • You will collaborate with all team disciplines, including artists, testers, economy, engineers, and producers to get support from the team and guide a project from initial design to final production.
      • You will become an expert on the game and our community, drawing from our large, varied player base and our past games to make and defend intelligent design choices going forward.
      • You have an eye for establishing and improving processes to make life easier for the Design team.
      • You help establish best practices for the team and lead by example.

      Required Qualifications

      • At least 5 years of game design experience on a video game development team.
      • At least 2 years of experience in an active live service game.
      • Ability to write detailed design documentation.
      • Technical proficiency when directly implementing design content either via scripting or database languages.
      • Champion a design and get the team excited to work on it.
      • Experience using a variety of scripting solutions to implement, tune, and bug-fix features.
      • Become proficient in multiple proprietary development tools.
      • Design and implementation experience with game features that focus on open-ended player creativity.
      • Experience working with game economies, including demonstrable knowledge of how different systems can affect a game economy.
      • Knowledge of and enthusiasm for gaming: playing, deconstructing, and creating.
      • Knowledge of College Football. The players and teams will be your playground.
      • Experience with sports games as a designer or a passionate player.

      Desirable Skills

      • Shipped a AAA HD title.
      • Experience using SQL.
      • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
      • Comfortable with) Miro, Visio, JIRA, and online collaboration suites such as Confluence.
      • Expertise with Google Sheets.
