      Job Title: Gantry Crane Operator


      Job Description

      Will be responsible for basic maintenance of crane and rigging associated with operations; Will notify the chain of command of any defaults with crane or rigging. Maintain a safe and productive crane. Check radius and set up of crane before operations begin. Input on lift plans. Work closely with foreman on issues of safety and toolbox talks. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

      Responsibilities

      • Maintain a safe and productive crane environment.
      • Check radius and set up of crane before operations begin.
      • Provide input on lift plans.
      • Work closely with the foreman on issues of safety and toolbox talks.
      • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

      Essential Skills

      • Overhead crane operation
      • NCCCO Certification
      • Gantry certification
      • Crane Operator NCCCO

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Minimum of 3 years experience in heavy civil projects
      • Previous experience in rigging and signaling
      • Previous experience in bridge or tunnel operations
      • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner (verbal and written)
      • Ability to read and understand heavy construction plans

      Work Environment

      Work schedule includes 4 weeks on day shift, followed by 4 weeks on night shift. Each shift lasts 10 hours a day, Monday through Sunday.

      This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $42.00/hr.
