- This position is designed and intended to be performed in Keene, NH.
- Assist in managing Garden Center inventory through merchandising, purchasing, pricing, and ordering
- Help build and maintain relationships with Garden Center vendors
- Support scheduling and supervise seasonal Garden Center staff
- Train store staff on plant care to minimize product losses
- Process and label orders
- Receive incoming products and assist in determining retail price
- Handle cash and credit card transactions of Garden Center
- Review and manage available vendor promotions
- Maintain the greenhouse, including cleaning customer areas, maintaining watering infrastructure, assembling display racking, and monitoring ventilation
- Clean and stock shelves and other display props
- Design merchandise displays
- Specialize in ag-related knowledge
- Obtain product knowledge through independent research
- Contribute to the care and handling of live plants within the store
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Answer customer inquiries pertaining to Garden Center products
- Responsible for building and executing Garden Center events including children’s events
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Must have 2-4 years’ experience as a Garden Center/Greenhouse professional
- Have a solid work history
- Customer service skills
- Extensive plant knowledge required
- Animal, retail and agriculture knowledge helpful
- Work independently as well as with others
- Position requires working outside in all weather conditions

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Garden Center Lead is responsible for demonstrating strong leadership, excellent customer service, and effective sales skills. This role requires a solid understanding of product knowledge to assist both staff and customers, sharing expertise in the specialized area of the Garden Center.
Key responsibilities include supporting the management and oversight of Garden Center sales, maintaining greenhouse infrastructure, and assisting in the supervision of Garden Center staff. The role also involves managing inventory, including purchasing, pricing, and ordering Garden Center merchandise.
This position is ideal for an action-oriented individual who leads by example and is capable of spending extended periods walking and standing. The Garden Center Lead reports directly to the Store Manager, who provides guidance and direction for all Garden Center activities.PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
