      PCSI is looking for Gardener at NASA Langley Research Center. The Gardner will assist in the accomplishment of minor grounds maintenance tasks and maintain the health and appearance of plants by watering, weeding, and fertilizing. This position will report to the Director of Operations and is based in Hampton, Virginia. Typical work hours will be 7am-3:30pm Monday-Friday.

      Benefits Include:

      • Base pay is $19.79/hr.
      • 21 days of PTO per year, in addition to all federal holidays.
      • Medical, dental, vision, and other coverage: employer contribution offered to cover employee-only tier.

      What You'll Do as Gardner:

      • Assist in the accomplishment of minor grounds maintenance tasks.
      • Maintain the health and appearance of plants by watering, weeding, and fertilizing.
      • Use equipment to maintain grounds, such as mowing lawns, edging grass, and trimming trees.
      • Keep grounds clear of debris and litter.
      • Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning of grounds equipment.
      • Follow safety and health regulations for landscaping and meet standards of the contract

      What You'll Need:

      • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
      • Experience and/or formal vocational and/or technical training in grounds maintenance preferred

      Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

      • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and appliances used in landscaping.
      • Familiarity with regional plant life, local pests, and synthetic and natural fertilizers.
      • Demonstrated accuracy and speed in work.
      • Good written and verbal communication skills.
      • Self-starter with the ability to work both with minimal supervision and as a team player.
      • Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and speak the English language.

      Other Requirements:

      • Ability to pass criminal, and drug screenings.
      • Ability to pass driving screenings preferred.
      • Ability to work outside in inclement weather and be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors.
      • Ability to move about the facilities approximately 90% of the time during working hours.
      • Ability to work any daytime hours or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
      • Preferred to possess valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record.
      • If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
