      Job Description

      GE Vernova’s Gas Power business engineers advanced, efficient natural gas-powered technologies and services, along with decarbonization solutions that aim to help electrify a lower carbon future.

      Gas Power is seeking sharp, personable, highly organized interns who are looking for the opportunity to grow their domain knowledge in the data field. Interns will engage in hands-on project planning and scheduling data of power projects while also enhancing their business and professional skills. Interns will learn from the best in the industry and work on substantial projects with real world implications, getting hands-on with planning skills.

      As a Co-op/Intern, you will:

      • Receive technical training, mentorship, and coaching from world-class contract and project managers
      • Grow your critical thinking and ability to read Contracts and investigate project claims and solve problems.
      • Get to know how power plant equipment works and what it takes to build natural gas power plants.
      • Perform contract analysis and build mitigation strategies to deal with real world late delivery of equipment such as steam turbine, gas turbines, gas engines and generators

      Asignment would include:

      • Learning the Contract Management role basics.
      • Setting up and running change order mining meetings for new projects.
      • Attending customer kick off meetings as required
      • Travelling to customer site as required for NCR/Vendor Recovery work
      • Auditing Contract back up documentation in the GE box folders.
      • Obtaining insurance certificates from customers

      Qualifications/Requirements

      • Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in an engineering discipline as listed below.
      • Following majors accepted: Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Management.
      • Must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).
      • Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process
      • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process
      • Must be 18 years of age or older
      • Must be able to develop and maintain good customer relationships
      • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
      • Must be willing to work in geographical area specified by the business
      • Must have the ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship

      Location: Schenectady, NY

      Relocation Assistance:

      Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.

      Housing Allowance:

      Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern’s permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.
