      Lincoln Transportation and Utilities, the City's largest department is seeking a Gatehouse Attendant I to join the Solid Waste Management division. This is public contact work providing specialized clerical services to customers utilizing the landfills and the maintenance of related records.

      Work involves processing each load entering the disposal facility in accordance with established policies and procedures; responding to questions from customers; and maintaining a variety of records related to waste loads entering the facility.

      Full time work with hours scheduled between 6:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.; work scheduled will require a minimum of 4 days a week; work on weekends and holidays may be part of regular schedule.

      • Create and provide customers with a printed ticket for transactions
      • Prepare deposit slips and complete off-site bank deposits.
      • Document waste receipts so that regulatory and financial records are created.
      • Route customers through the desired traffic pattern.
      • Open/close entrance and exit gates, arm/disarm security alarms, lock safe and doors, position surveillance cameras.
      • Use video cameras to monitor customer traffic patterns and to perform security related tasks so that exposure to criminal activity is minimized.
      • Distribute information to customers including printed materials.
      Bilingual skills desired.High school graduate or equivalent and at least 6 months of experience in public contact related work, handling money, and in the use of a standard computer keyboard, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
