What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Supervise chemistry labs alongside teaching or faculty assistants
- Answer student questions and offer guidance
- Ensure safe laboratory practices are followed
- Prepare for laboratory sessions by reviewing lab manuals and attending briefings
- Support emergency subbing for fellow lab assistants
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must be a UW-Madison student enrolled for the Fall 2024 semester
- Undergraduate major in chemistry, biochemistry, or chemical engineering preferred
- Completed general chemistry with a grade of B or better
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.00 required
- In-person lab experience strongly preferred
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Completed intermediate level courses in organic, analytical, and/or inorganic chemistry
- Third or fourth-year students preferred
- Strong chemistry background
