Job Title: General Laborer

Job Description

We are seeking dedicated General Laborers to join our production team. Your primary responsibilities will include handling and loading materials, shoveling concrete mixes, and ensuring the cleanliness of the work area. This position is available until the docks close in November.

Responsibilities

• Loading bags of sand, slag, and other base concrete mix materials into loaders to feed into tanker trucks.
• Moving pallets on and off trucks, and stacking pallets of finished products.
• Shoveling sand, slag, and other concrete mixes.
• Cleaning the work area.
• Breaking up rocks.

Essential Skills

• Ability to lift 50 lbs repetitively throughout an 8-hour shift.
• Ability to work outside in various weather conditions for an 8-hour shift.
• Ability to bend, twist, and squat for the entire duration of the shift.
• Ability to wear a respirator for the duration of the shift when needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in general labor, construction, concrete, packaging, loading, production, and machine operation.
• Flexibility to work different shifts as needed.
• Punctuality and reliability are critical.
• Compliance with safety regulations, including no use of personal phones during shifts.

Work Environment

The work environment requires wearing PPE such as respirators and coveralls, which are provided by the company. You will need to dress appropriately for outdoor work, including beanies, gloves, and sweatshirts during the winter. Work boots are necessary but do not need to be steel-toed. Shifts are from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM (Monday - Friday) and from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM. There is one half-hour break for lunch with small breaks throughout the shift. Overtime is dependent on site needs and staffing levels.

This is a Contract position based out of Detroit, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
