      General Labourer

      The General Labourer position at the Cascadia Terminal responsible for performing a variety of general labour duties involving housekeeping, tool use, lifting, carrying and managing equipment and machinery in and around the terminal. The position is accountable to the Operations Supervisor (s). A strong work ethic and attention to detail are essential.

      The terminal operates on a continuous 24-hour basis with day, afternoon and night shifts. The general schedule block rotation for the terminal is 6 days on, 3 days off.

      What You'll Do

      • Coordinating General Labourer duties with Operations Supervisor(s) through effective communications.
      • Operate all equipment in a safe efficient way according to company policies and procedures.
      • Accountable for the safe operation and storage of pesticides and equipment by ensuring safe work practices and standards are adhered to. Participates and recommends safety procedures.
      • Reports and follows-up any maintenance requirements to the appropriate departments.
      • Operate basic hand and power tools in accordance with proper procedure.
      • Load and unload materials.
      • Perform general maintenance including conducting routine equipment repairs for processing equipment.
      • Keep facility and grounds clean, tidy and free of fire hazards while working within the Employee Health & Safety guidelines. Follow ISO standards and procedures.
      • Performing other related duties as required.

      What you bring to our team

      • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
      • Proven ability to adhere to and maintain workplace health and safety initiatives.
      • Valid Class 5 driver’s license is preferred.
      • Basic understanding of the Canadian Grain Industry would be considered an asset.
