We have a fantastic opportunity for a General Ledger (GL) Accountant in Norwich. Working as part of the GL Accounting and Financial Control team you will be allocated several complex manual journals, balance sheet reconciliations and controls to perform and review. You will learn how accounting for the Aviva General Insurance (GI) business and financial processes work which will allow you to contribute to the closing of Aviva GI books and records and support the financial control framework.
Your role is to prepare and review manual journals, balance sheet reconciliations and operate the controls and review to agreed deadlines and within the financial control framework. You will report the outcomes of the controls performed to agreed deadlines and will often analyse high volumes of data.
For this role, you will need a natural curiosity, enjoy problem solving, take accountability for your own workload and provide your leader with clear updates on progress. You will be required to build a level of knowledge on the end-to-end process with a particular focus on understanding the impact of the process you own further downstream. Attention to detail is required together with the ability to stand back, see the bigger picture, and understand key issues.
