- Assists with various manual labor tasks in the cleaning, maintenance and repair of municipal buildings, facilities, grounds, streets and parks; provides basic upkeep of vehicles and transports as required to maintenance shops; fire hydrant testing and related data input; duties may vary according to job assignment and individual skills.
- Performs job duties within scope of authority, and in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures; reports safety hazards, equipment problems and emergency situations.
- Follows all safety rules and regulations to minimize risk of accidents and enhance safety of the facilities.
- Learns a variety of general maintenance work methods and procedures, and the operation and maintenance of specialized tools and equipment.
- Supports the relationship between the City of Yuma and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with citizens, visitors, and City staff; promotes the City goals and priorities, and complies with all City policies and procedures.
- Maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues and City information; performs other duties as required or assigned.

We are looking for someone to join Team Yuma as a General Maintenance Worker , working with the Parks & Recreation departments at the City of Yuma. The ideal candidate will assist with various manual labor tasks including cleaning, maintenance and repair of municipal buildings, facilities, grounds, streets, and parks.Under close supervision, assists with general labor and maintenance tasks in the Parks & Recreation department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Some experience in general maintenance work is preferred.

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
A valid Arizona State Driver's License is required.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed indoors and outdoors at work sites throughout the city; requires ability to bend, reach, stoop, and lift objects; may be exposed to safety hazards and dangerous tools and equipment; safety precautions must be followed, including use of safety equipment.About the company
