      About the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities - Tiffin Developmental Center:

      The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) is a trauma informed care agency. We offer a state-wide system of supportive services that focus on ensuring health and safety, supporting access to community participation and increasing opportunities for meaningful employment. Tiffin Developmental Center is located in the northwest region of Ohio and is home to both adults and youth with developmental disabilities.

      What you will do as a Maintenance Repair Worker 2:

      The Maintenance Department plays a key role in maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for our residents and staff. We have an 80- acre main campus consisting of 6 residential buildings, various support buildings and outdoor spaces. Example duties include:

      • Carpentry
      • Minor electrical
      • Minor plumbing
      • Grounds keeping (i.e. mowing, landscape maintenance, snow removal)
      • Concrete work
      • Painting
      • Delivery

      This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position. Working hours are 9:00AM to 5:30PM with an unpaid 1/2 hour meal break. This position is scheduled to work every 3rd weekend.

      Deferred Compensation

      Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in maintenance repair work (e.g., basic electricity, plumbing, carpentry, masonry repair & use of associated hand & power tools & equipment); in accordance with section 124.11 (B) (2) of revised code, Director Of Administrative Services has determined this classification to be unskilled labor class & therefore exempt from written examination.

      -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required
