  What you will be doing

  As General Manager you are ultimately responsible for everything that happens in the medium-sized ibis hotel near the old port of Rotterdam. From the 139 rooms to the trendy lounge and the terrace, you manage it all. You breath hospitality and together with your team you ensure that guests feel at home and enjoy a memorable good stay at ibis. You are responsible for an efficient daily operations and for achieving sales, marketing and financial objectives. It is your role to strengthen the position of the hotel and the brand by applying the right strategy in collaboration with the hotel team and the VP of Operations. You ensure that the quality and service level are maintained and optimized within the hotel. In addition, you are responsible for the implementation of policies and procedures and the implementation of new projects. Promoting the hotel within the city of Rotterdam and the surroundings in synergy with other Accor hotels in the region is also part of your responsibility. With your commercial skills you know how to use every sales opportunity. Because of your enthusiasm, broad knowledge and experience in the hotel industry, you are able to encourage the development of your employees. You make an average working day fun and you play key role in guiding, coaching and developing the team. Your inspiring leadership style must ensure that the objectives and set targets are achieved. From optimizing staffing and turnover to a good working atmosphere and motivated employees!

  Your experience and skills

  For the role of General Manager at Ibis Rotterdam City Centre, we are looking for an authentic leader who is commercially driven and result focused with strong interpersonal skills. You are known as easy approachable and you value your presence in the hotel lobby and back of house workplaces. You possess the following qualifications:

  • The position is offered for a fulltime employment
  • Prior 5+ years’ experience as General Manager in a hotel or Operations Manager in a large hotel essential
  • Proven experience in leading a dynamic team with an informal working culture and where roles were multi-skilled
  • Bachelor degree in Business or Hospitality Management
  • Fluent in English and Dutch
  • Good understanding and know-how of the current hospitality market of Rotterdam
  • Good analytical skills, you know how to set-up, measure and steer the right KPIs
  • Experience with owners and managers relationship and multi-stakeholder management
  • Must be strategic, creative and able to clearly communicate how plans will deliver on overall goals, backed up by data and analysis
  • Excellent networking, speaking and presentation skills
  • Bottom-line oriented with emphasis on high quality guest-service and coaching leadership skills

  Your team and working environment

  Working and leading the Ibis Rotterdam City Centre requires a high level of flexibility. You will support your team of around 12, multi-generational employees of diverse nationalities, as a coaching manager. The Ibis Rotterdam City Centre is a flat organization where employees work multi-skilled and reporting lines are limited. Additionally you report to the owners as well as Accor which requires good interpersonal skills and good stakeholder management and financial and analytical skills.
