      How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

      The General Manager, In-Flight Service Operations is responsible for delivering operational excellence for the SEA IFS base through mentoring and developing a diverse merit team. In-Flight Service is seeking high performing individuals who have demonstrated leadership experience with a high level of accountability for developing and executing strategic plans to drive exceptional results. This leadership role is responsible for developing strategies to achieve critical performance metrics which includes, but are not limited to, Safety, Operating and Capital Plans, Customer NPS, Employee Satisfaction, & Leadership Development. This includes responsibility for approximately 1,700 flight attendants and 24 leaders and support staff in a fast-paced 24/7 operation.

      Key Responsibilities:
      • Partner with Field Operations Directors to develop and implement strategies that support the achievement of division and corporate goals for Safety, Operating and Capital Plans, Customer NPS, Employee Satisfaction and Leadership Development
      • Own base operation to ensure adherence to financial operating plan and resource and base staffing optimization to meet the needs of Flight Attendants and support the flying operation
      • Ensure base leaders are executing their role responsibilities according to established Standard Operating Procedures and driving system consistency
      • Direct base and regional projects and activities within IFS and/or with cross-divisional partners
      • Build trust and respect with Flight Attendants and merit team via open channels of clear and transparent communication
      • Facilitate collaboration between Employee Involvement Group (EIG), Flight Attendants and local leaders to develop, implement and enhance new and existing programs to achieve corporate and divisional goals
      • Build relationships with matrix IFS support groups, cross divisional partners and local airport authorities
      • Represents Delta and our brand in the community
      • If not already Flight Attendant qualified, must successfully complete initial Flight Attendant training and maintain qualifications
      • Execute full onboard Flight Attendant duties as required
      • Travel required
      • Must be willing and able to work nights, weekends and holidays to support a 24/7 global operation
      • Must ensure safety awareness and compliance throughout workplace
      • Develops both strategic and tactical plans that create a safety-conscious environment resulting in employee safety and well-being
      Pay range for this position is $92,100-$191,100

      What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

      • Minimum of five years of experience with developing high performing leaders and driving performance results
      • Inspire curiosity, challenge current processes and support innovative thinking
      • Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to produce strategic, concise documents and presentations for senior and executive leaders
      • Excellent critical thinking and decision-making capabilities in a high pressure, time critical environment
      • Ability to anticipate roadblocks and plan appropriately to mitigate risks
      • Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution and finding common ground in order to obtain cooperation from others
      • Ability to influence and drive change at all levels of the organization through collaboration and negotiation
      • Manage and execute multiple priorities on time via effective delegation techniques
      • Ability to leveraging data and analytics to drive employee performance
      • Experience in strategic planning and execution
      • High level of proficiency in use of standard Microsoft Office applications
      • (If transferring internally) Must be performing satisfactorily in present position
      • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data
      • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
      • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
      • Is at least 21 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States

      What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

      • Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years equivalent work experience
      • Experience in dealing with a wide variety of operational and safety situations
      • Previous experience in an IFS base leadership position
      • Five years of In-Flight Service or Delta experience
