      Portering Services are looking for motivated individuals to join their small and friendly team. This is a physically demanding role, rewarding, challenging and a job that makes a real difference to our patient experience and the smooth running of our services.

      We offer an outstanding benefits package alongside an hourly rate of £12.08 per hour with enhancements for shifts worked at weekends, bank holidays and nights. The working pattern for this role covers 7 days a week, covering a 24 hour service. Shift patterns include, early's, late's, and night duties. Different shift patterns will attract enhanced hourly rate including weekend and bank holidays.

      Main duties of the job

      As part of this role you will cover various shifts on a 24 hours rota. You will need to be able to work various shift patterns over 7 days to cover a 24-hour service, including early, late and night duties, weekends and bank holidays. All shifts are 8 hours with a 30 minute break.

      On a daily basis, you may walk 12-15 miles per day, transfer patients on beds or chairs to other departments and wards, move equipment, medical notes (up to 15kg) and office/ward moves. Other duties include assisting with the delivery of internal post, Pharmacy supplies to wards and blood related products to various wards across the Trust. Please be aware some duties are of a sensitive nature.

      There will also be the use of our on-site electrical vehicles; this can include collection of waste, delivering of post and pharmacy deliveries. Full UK driving license will be required for this.
