      Job summary

The Oaks Medical Centre and Blackwood Health Centre has a fantastic opportunity for a GP to join its team. We are looking for an additional salaried GP to join our team, working up to 9 sessions between our 2 surgeries, The Oaks Medical Centre and Blackwood Health Centre.

The Oaks is a forward thinking and progressive organisation with two main objectives, firstly to become an employer of choice that secondly, delivers first class care to its patients.

An excellent package awaits the right candidate which will include flexibility, being part of an incredibly supportive team and with opportunities to develop and progress into a senior role within the practice.

The Practice is now actively encouraging its salaried GP team to not just to get involved, but to assist and lead on projects that achieve our two main business aims highlighted above. Of course, time is given and protected to do this.

It is also worth knowing that in line with our aims to improve staff wellbeing and in acknowledgement of GP workload pressures, the Oaks has very successfully put significant investment into reducing the administrative burden placed on GPs. Please feel free to call and speak to me about this.

      Main duties of the job

You will be working as part of a well-functioning team consisting of GPs, ANP's, Paramedics, Nurses, HCA's and big number of back office staff. Each day is led by an experienced on-call GP who's role is purely supervisory, and there to support the whole team.

The Practice, whilst having a family feel to it, also understands the importance of structure, recognition and development for its staff. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to work in a supporting environment with a built in culture of development and progression.

We have sessions available at multiple sites and throughout the week so please dont hesitate to get in touch if you would like to talk about this or anything else.

      About us

The Oaks Medical Centre has around 70 employees working across three sites in the Great Barr and Streetly area.

The practice has a great attitude to its staff and as such achieves retention rates far above the industry standard. 'No idea is a bad idea' at The Oaks and as such is a great place for anyone who really wishes to make a difference.

From the daily coffee and catch up meetings for all clinicians to attend, to shared lunch breaks in a lovely purpose built staff room for the whole team, The Oak's focus is its staff first as it is only with happy staff, they we are able to deliver the best patient care possible.

  • About the company

National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the United Kingdom (UK). The founding principles were that services should be comprehensive, universal and free at the point of delivery—a health service based on clinical need, not ability to pay. Each service provides a comprehensive range of health services, free at the point of use for people ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom apart from dental treatment and optical care.
