- Deliver the highest clinical standards to all patients accessing the service.
- Assess, investigate, diagnose, and treat patients with needs suitable for primary care.
- Identify and manage acute presentations, referring to the Emergency Department when appropriate.
- Provide emergency stabilisation for patients awaiting transfer.
- Support and advise colleagues within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team.
- Manage patient flow effectively, balancing clinical need with service capacity.
- An experienced doctor with GP accreditation and a minimum of 3 years experience.
- Current registration with GMC and NHS performers list (with no conditions preventing working or restrictions on practice).
- Experience of working in primary care and urgent care environment.
- Record of on-going CPD and learning.
- Maintain continued education through attendance at courses and/or study days as necessary to ensure professional development requirements for on-going professional registration and licensing are met.
- Ensure that high clinical standards are maintained throughout the service.
- Participate in annual appraisal and complete an annual personal development plan.
- Comply with standard operational procedures and departmental and organisational policy.
- Undertake necessary mandatory training.
- MRCGP examination
- Sound knowledge of clinical governance
- Clear understanding of professional responsibility and accountability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills written, verbal (Particularly listening skills)
- Good organisational skills and ability to manage and prioritise own workload
- Good clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis and management of acute Primary care presentations
- Be able to clear an enhanced DBS check
- Must be authorised to work in the UK
- Be willing to support professionals from other disciplines such as Emergency Care Practitioners, Advanced nurse practitioners and GP registrars. This may involve practitioners sitting in and seeing patients where appropriate.
- Strong ability to manage, prioritise, and organise workload effectively.
- Excellent at building relationships and communicating clearly.
- Skilled in using clinical IT systems efficiently, such as Adastra and Electronic Prescribing (EPS).
- Will understand the political agenda and drivers influencing primary care provision.
- Good leadership skills with the ability to influence and negotiate.
- An experienced doctor with GP accreditation and a minimum of 3 years experience.
