      We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Bure. HMP Bure is a category C Prison located in Badersfield, Norwich. The prison houses around 624 patients with a variety of complex needs including long term conditions. Within this role you will will work closely with the multidisciplinary team include another GP's to deliver high quality healthcare services

      Salary This is a full time role offer up to £130,000 per annum- depending on experience

      Main duties of the job

      As a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, you will

      • Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patients requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management
      • Prescribing for patients, regularly review medications and monitor repeat prescriptions
      • Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities. Including diagnosis, investigation, treatment and referral as appropriate in line with guidelines and pathways.       We recognise training and development is key, therefore we provide a training portal to facilitate your needs as well as have an in-depth induction for all staff whether you have experience of working in prisons or not. You will gain insight into Mental Health and Substance Misuse, as well as the opportunity to work towards your RCGP level 2. It doesnt stop there we also offer:

      Qualifications required

      • MBChB or MBBS
      • Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
      • Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
      • Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
      • Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
      • RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications
