Generator Engineer (Direct Drive Technology)

- You will play a key role to ensure that the proper technical support for the generators is provided
- As design authority is gradually transferred from Onshore/Offshore Business Units to the Service Unit, you will have complete technical responsibility on all aspects of Direct Drive Generators, from cradle to grave
- The position entails a high level of practical use of your expertise, empowerment, and responsibility
- You will be involved from the site investigation, failure mode identification, disassembly of failed components to the repair and testing in workshop. Therefore, your knowledge and expertise will be essential in ensuring that the team delivers technical investigations, root cause analysis, design updates and retrofits as well as support for repair/refurbishment activities
- You will also interact with the design authorities participating in high level technical discussions, Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA) etc. to ensure that the learnings from the Service Organization are feed back to the design authorities for the development of the future Platforms
- You will work closely with various stakeholders and the Generator Team lead to help ensure growth and development and represent SGRE as technical expert towards our customers
- Experienced engineers and/or junior engineers with limited experience but knowledge in the topic and high motivation and initiative to learn new technologies in a fast-changing environment are also welcomed to apply
- Education within the electrical field, as electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, or electro-mechanical engineer is required
- You need to be dynamic, autonomous, proactive and customer (internal or external) oriented
- A practical mindset and relevant technical and commercial experience are an added value
- Collaboration with international teams and working in different company cultures is crucial in this position
- Advanced English skills are required (both written and spoken) for the purpose of reporting and interacting with the different stakeholders spread around the globe, being English SGRE official communication language
- As part of a global team at least 40 travel days a year should be expected

Direct Drive turbines are one of our most technically advanced products, with a widely installed fleet both in Onshore and Offshore. In the Generator Team, you will be heavily involved in all generator aspects of our Direct Drive Platforms in Service Technical Systems.
We are looking for someone with experience in supporting Direct Drive generators or similar technologies, to be part of our Electrical Drive Train Module in the Technical Systems Organization within the Service Customer Technology & Solutions Department.
