Position Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the operation of the Clinical Genetics Service, including the areas of cancer and prenatal genetics. They will also be helping with the triage and on-call process.

Clinical Genetics at Trillium Health Partners provides diagnosis and counseling in the areas of prenatal, cancer, pediatric and adult genetics to patients affected by or at risk of genetic disorders.

Job Description:

• Providing genetic counseling to patients regarding general, prenatal and cancer genetics including the OBSP High Risk program.
• Providing support for the triage and on-call process
• Participation in department meetings/rounds
• Participation in education and teaching rounds of general public, medical students, health care providers and hospital staff

Qualifications:

• Masters Degree in Genetic Counseling required
• CAGC (Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellor)board eligibility/board certification or equivalent
• 2-3 years previous clinical experience is preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
• Satisfactory attendance and performance required
