What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Interpret diagnostic test results and review clinical information
- Apply variant classification guidelines and generate accurate clinical testing result reports
- Stay updated on current theories and principles of human genetics
- Evaluate genetic data and literature
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Master's degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited institution
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- ABGC Board Certification and state licensure (when applicable)
- Prior clinical or laboratory experience
- Familiarity with diagnostic testing methodologies, including next-generation and Sanger sequencing, microarray, and MLPA
